University of Pennsylvania Selects AEGIS Client to Secure its Campus-wide Wireless LAN
AEGIS Client from Meetinghouse enables easy campus-wide software distribution and licensing
Portsmouth, NH - June 9, 2004 - Meetinghouse, a leading developer of standards-based network authentication software for wired and wireless local-area networks, announces its largest sale of AEGIS Client to date in the education market to the University of Pennsylvania.
AEGIS Client is offered to universities in special Campus Packs that address the difficult security deployment problems schools face by providing 802.1X / WPA security for Windows and legacy systems, simplifying pricing and licensing, and enabling enterprise deployment.
The Campus Pack purchased by University of Pennsylvania will enable the use of as many Meetinghouse software products as it wishes for all of its students, faculty, and staff -- on wired and wireless LANs. AEGIS Client products provide security for laptops, desktops, and handhelds across a variety of operating systems, including, Window XP, NT, 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, Mac OS X, Linux, Pocket PC 2003/2003, CE. NET 4.1/4.2, Palm Tungsten C and Solaris 8.
Campus Packs also eliminate the need to track individual product use on campus easing the administrative burden. The University will be using a free Enterprise Deployment option from Meetinghouse that enables it to pre-configure user profiles and easily distribute AEGIS Client across campus.
